One way I could think of is to add a maintenance window right at Devices/. From the Infrastructure window, click on Devices -> Details -> Administration and you'll see it.

Yea thats how I thought it might be a firewall problem. I ran "zenping run -v10" and some packets were timing out at certain points. zenping is using ICMP.

Oh ok! So might need to add and exception for your zenoss server at your firewall. Perhaps it´s tearing down some connection because of a "possible threat".
